Fiber Trends Pattern AC75 Design by Bev Galeskas Made in a fur-like novelty yarn or light-as-air mohair, this shrug-like jacket is the perfect topper for that strappy dress. Knit in one piece from the neck down in garter stitch, there are only two very short seams to sew.
Sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Finished Lower Measurement: 33" (36", 40") (84 (93, 102) cm). Choose size by measuring under the bustline and whithout adding ease.
Yarn Requirements: 210, (250, 280) yards (192 (229, 256) meters) Use a thick mohair or a bulky weight "fur-like" novelty yarn. Optional contrast borders require about 40 (50, 60) yards (37 (46, 55) meters) of ribbon or similar chunky weight, smooth yarn.
Needles: 24" (60cm) circular needle in US size 11 or 13 (8 or 9 mm); size J (6mm) crochet hook.
Gauge: 10 sts and 14 rows = 4" (10 cm) in garter stitch. Shown in Naturally Mohair Plus from with self borders and ties, and in Splash from Crystal Palace Yarns, bordered with a contrasting ribbon yarn and ties of wide purchased ribbon. Bella and Temptation are two other good yarn choices for this shrug.
