Fiber Trends Pattern WP02 Design by Bev Galeskas The body of this jacket is made first and felted to a thick, warm fabric. Once the body is dry, the borders and sleeves are knit onto the felt body.
Finished chest measurement: 43" (47", 52"); length: 23" (24", 25") Sizes are based on using the yarn specified and felting to the felted gauge given. Exact finished measurements will vary with the amount of felting so it is possible to adjust the size up or down a few inches from those given.
Yarn Requirements: Choose a bulky weight yarn that felts well. Jacket Body: Approximately 860 (960, 1060) yds Sleeves: Approximately 600 (650, 700) yds Borders, Collar and Cuffs: 200 (230, 250) yds
Needles: Jacket body: 24" or longer (60 - 80 cm) circular size 11 (8 mm) Sleeves: 24" (60 cm) circular size 9 (5.5 mm) Borders and collar: 24" (60 cm) circular size 7 (4.5 mm) Cuffs: A set of size 7 double pointed needles One spare 24" circular in a smaller size. Other Supplies: 100 yds of worsted wt colorfast cotton for temporary borders
Suggested Yarns: 14ply (bulky) in Natural Wool, Tussock, Naturelle or Alpine
