Yarns Used For Models:
Lily's shawls are made in Helen's Lace
Background shawls are made in Heaven, a fine mohair.
Both yarns are handpainted from Lorna's Laces Yarns.
Yardages, Needle/Hook Size, Gauge and Finished Measurements:
For other yarns, choose needle or hook size according to yarn weight. Aim for a very loose tension, using perhaps 4 sizes larger than your yarn may normally call for. Note that we have made various sizes of shawls and you may choose to make yours larger or smaller.
Lily's Knit Shawl: 35" long and 80" wide.
1200 yds of Helen's Lace, size 6 (4mm) needles, 20 sts = 4" (10cm).
Background Knit Shawl: 34" long and 78" wide.
975 yards of Heaven, size 8 ( mm) needles, 16 sts = 4" (10cm).
Lily's Crocheted Shawl: 42" long and 84" wide.
1700 yards of Helen's Lace, size H (5mm) hook, 5 shells = 6" (15cm).
Background Crocheted Shawl: 44" long and 88" wide
975 yds of Heaven, size J (6mm) hook, 5 shells = 8" (20cm).
