Needle sizes:
For 4 ply (baby wt): US 3 (3.25 mm) straight needles.
For 8 ply (DK wt): US 5 (3.75mm) straight needles.
Gauge:
4ply: 26 sts and 46 rows over garter stitch = 4 inches / 10cm.
8ply: 21 sts and 38 rows over garter stitch = 4 inches / 10cm.
Yarn Requirements for jacket and hat:
