Classic style felt jacket for boys and girls with turned back cuffs for growing room.
To fit a child of approximately 2 (4, 6) years of age
Finished chest measurement: 26½" (29", 32"); Finished length: 15" (17", 19")
Finished size will vary depending on the amount of felting. To get the desired size, it is very important to follow felting instructions carefully.
Yarn Requirements: DK or light worsted weight wool,
approx 1000 (1250, 1500) yds of main color and 125 (150, 175) yds of contrast. Less blocking will be needed if you choose a plied yarn, as opposed to a singles.
Other Supplies: cotton thread for basting; coilless pins; 3 metal clasps
Needles: 16" & 24" (40 & 60 cm) circular size 10½ (6.5mm) and a 24" (60cm) or longer, circular size 10 (6mm) for border
A spare circular needle in a smaller size.
Unfelted Gauge: Approximately 14 sts and 18 rows = 4" (10 cm)
Suggested Yarns: Perendale, 8ply Tussock, Alpine or Naturelle
