Sizes: One size fits average adult head. Adjustments to size may be made in cast off round.
Beret top is about 11" in diameter and toque about 9".
Yarn Requirements: Bulky or Chunky yarn that will knit to the gauge below. These hats offer endless possibilities for using small amounts of hand dyed as well as solid color yarns.
Color options other than those shown are given in the pattern.
Beret and toque each require about 140 yards total.
A striped hat will require from 80 to 100 yards of main color and 40 to 60 yards of contrast depending on how the two colors are used.
Needles: 16" (40 cm) circular needles in size 7 (4.5 mm) and 9 (5.5 mm).
Gauge: 14 sts = 4" in garter stitch on larger needle.
