Fiber Trends Pattern FT225e - PDF
Design by Evelyn A. Clark
This small shaggy dog is a fun reminder of the everyday joy that canine companions can bring to our lives. You can change yarns, colors, ear style and tail length to customize your pup.
Finished Size: 10" to 12" high at head and 11" to 13" long.
Suggested Yarns: 10 ply and Temptation or Temptation print for the fur. For a short-haired look consider using a strand of dk wool with a strand of laceweight mohair.
This is a digital format pattern that will be available for download from your Shopatron account immediately after your payment has processed. If you are interested in purchasing a hard copy of this pattern that will be shipped to you please go to FT225 Felted Fido
Yarn Requirements: Choose a worsted weight yarn that will felt easily and firmly and a coordinating furry novelty yarn to hold along with it. The novelty yarn is not expected to felt.
Yardage: Approx 200 yds (183m) each of the main color wool and the coordinating furry novelty yarn. Note: The novelty yarn is not required if you want your dog to be "short-haired".
If you wish to use a contrasting color for paws, you will need about 25 yds (23m) of contrast.
Needles: Straight or circular knitting needles and set of dp needles, all in US size 10.5 (6.5mm). Use size 11 (8mm) for heavier weight yarns.
Gauge: (Approx, before felting) 10 sts = 4" (10cm) in garter stitch.
Since dogs come in all sizes, it is more important to obtain a loose gauge for felting than to match a specific gauge.
