S2019 The Gypsy Lace Shawl
Description↑
Fiber Trends Pattern S2019
Design by Evelyn A. Clark
This shawl was inspired by my friend Karen Aho's passion for color, which she insists stems from a day she spent with Gypsies during her childhood in Finland.
Simple lace patterns are used on this garter stitch square to encourage experimentation with color.
Blocked Size: Approximately 36" (91cm) square.
Yarn Requirements: Lace weight yarn in the following amounts:
Color A (center) 470 yds (430m), Color B (2 narrow bands) 315 yds (288m), Color C (wide band) 394 yds (360m).
Requirements will vary if using a different yarn weight.
Needles: US size 5 (3.75mm) 24" (60cm), or longer circular needle.
You will also need a spare, smaller size circular needle.
If using a different weight of yarn, adjust your needle size to obtain a loose, attractive lace fabric.
Shown in Dawn laceweight using 3 skeins color A and 2 skeins each colr B and C.
